City Governments




General Information

The Town of Vail Community Information Office serves as a clearing-house for resources, issues and questions about Vail's municipal government. The office is equipped to handle incoming requests from individuals as well as outgoing news and information. more >>>
Legal The town attorney serves at the pleasure of the Vail Town Council and provides legal advice and counsel to the Council and town officials in matters relating to their official duties. He also is the legal representative of the Town of Vail in county, state and federal court and directs outside counsel who represent the town in that capacity. more >>>
Police Department The Vail Police Department was established in 1966. During the first few years of operation, Police officers were notified of calls for service by a tall lamp that was turned on by locals in the Village area. Back then, it was not unusual for a Vail Police officer to be the only cop on duty after midnight in the entire county. more >>>
Fire Department

Vail Fire and Emergency Services has an agreement with Vail Resorts, Inc, operator of Vail Mountain, to provide fire suppression services on Vail Mountain and an agreement for fire suppression and fire prevention services with districts out of the department's response area. more >>>
